New Releases, Reissues and Restocks | Friday 16th February

Bella Brown & Jealous Lovers ‘Soul Clap’ is a good new retro Soul and Funk album which will appeal to those who enjoy the albums on Daptone and Colemine. The Bamboos excellent album ‘This is How you do it’ is now out on vinyl and back in stock on CD. There are two great new 45s on Expansion from Collins & Collins and Ozone available as either regular dinked or limited edition full centre DJ copies. There are two brilliant additions to the Blue Note classic series analogue masters from Lee Morgan and Joe Henderson. Miles Davis’ classic soundtrack to ‘Ascenseur pur l’echafaud’ gets a welcome 180gm LP reissue. We are also back in stock of many great albums including Cymande ‘Cymande’ (whose story is told in a new film released today) also Lemuria, Donald Byrd, Dusty in Memphis , Ann Sexton and Al Green. There are quite a few new Soul and Funk reissue CDs from Japan available in limited quantities.

Pre-order for next week for two reissue CDs and LP from Jackie Ross , her underrated 1980 album ‘New Beginning’ and one with Swiss Movement, and for 1st march three rare soul LPs from Chosen Few, Classic Example and Ella Washington. Later in March Brenda Lee Eager Mizell produced ‘When I’m With You’ gets a welcome reissue on 45. see all pre-order titles here.

Saturday 20th April is record store day and the list of titles has just been published, which you can view here. We will aim to stock most of the Soul, Jazz, Reggae etc titles and some of the more general releases, if there is anything you would like us to stock please let us know before the end of February so that we can order from suppliers, baring in mind that titles will be sold on  first come first served basis on the day in accordance with the rules.
We are still processing several new collections that have recently arrived. This week we did another great feature on new 12″ singles which you can see here, plus a cracking list of Jazz-Funk LPs here. We still have many of the incredible original 12″ singles from the amazing collection in pt 1, pt 2, pt 3, pt 4, pt 5,pt 6, pt 7 and pt 8.  Watch out for the second half of the collection that we will be collecting in the next two weeks.
