Thee Sinseers have made a really nice retro Soul album on Colemine, available on CD, LP and coloured LP. Nat Birchall has a really good spiritual Jazz album ‘New World’ featuring a whole band including veteran UK saxophonist Alan Skidmore. London band Ill Considered have a new album and Kahil El’zabar Ethnic Heritage Ensemble celebrate 50 years with a new epic ‘Open Me To A Higher Conciousness’.
There are welcome reissues on vinyl of Tenderlonious ‘On Flute’ and Toshio Matsuura Group ‘Loveplaydance’. Alice Coltrane unreleased ‘At Carnegie Hall’ gives us an insight as to what it must have been like to see her play live. Carolyn Crawford has a great long in demand double sider 45 on Kent City, selling fast don’t miss this! and Masterpiece 35 is another good 80s soul comp, plus Bahamadia 90’s hip hop album ‘Kollage’ gets a reissue on Bewith. There is also a fantastic reissue of Opa’s 1975 album ‘Back Home’ plus three of Ian Carr’s Nucleus albums get welcome CD reissues.

This month we are celebrating the 30th Anniversary of our shop which opened in March 1994! We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in the month to celebrate.
Saturday 20th April is record store day and the list of titles has just been published, which you can view here. We have placed all orders and will be uploading the titles over the next two to three weeks. We will aim to stock most of the Soul, Jazz, Reggae etc titles and some of the more general releases, but baring in mind that records will be sold on first come first served basis on the day in accordance with the rules. Soul Brother is also proud to be releasing China Burton’s classic ‘You Don’t Care About Our Love’ on 12″ single.
