New Releases, Reissues and Restocks | Friday 24th May

Our good friend and excellent saxophonist Sean Khan presents the Modern Jazz and Folk Ensemble on Acid Jazz records. The Spinners return celebrating 70 years with 10 new tracks on ‘Full Circle’ featuring original member Henry Famborough. The Sextones excellent ‘Love Cant Be Borrowed’ album gets a clear vinyl LP release. Offline have a really nice funky cinematic instrumental Soul release ‘La Couleur De La Mer’, and we are back in stock of the brilliant Circling Sun album ‘Spirits’.
There are some strong reissues with Lonnie Smith ‘Funk Reaction’  the standout, but Fania All Stars ‘ Latin Soul Rock’ and the Harvey Averne Coco Records compilation and splatter vinyl version of Viejas Raaces are also noteworthy. There is a 2cd BT Express ‘Definitive collection’ and  CD collection of unreleased British Progressive Jazz. Athens Of the North have two good modern soul 45 reissues from Premonition and Coast To Coast, and the superb funky jazz  tune  ‘Catfish’ by Peter Herbolzheimer  gets a Dynamite cuts 45 release, plus 2000 Black have a new 12″ of broken beats.

We have just taken delivery of the first batch from a wonderful new soul LP collection which includes many rare albums, available to view in store tomorrow first listings Tuesday or Wednesday.

As always we have a brilliant selection of original LPs and 12s that have been added to the site in recent weeks. This week we added some brilliant original soul LPs in addition to the batches of Philly Soul and Classic Soul we put up recently, plus two new batches of 12″ singles for funk, disco and house fans check them out here and here. This is part of a larger group of 12″ singles from a recent collection into one group which you can view HERE.
