This week at the top of the list for new releases is Aaron Frazer’s ‘Into The Blue’. A brilliant new album and a must have for fans of that retro soul sound of Durand Jones, The Monophonics et al. Reissue wise there’s two new tone poets from Wayne Shorter and Donald Byrd, Shorter’s ‘Odyssey Of Iksa’ from 1970 is definitely worth having for fans of his more explorative work and Byrd’s ‘Byrd Blows on Beacon Hill’ is a lovely quartet album from 1956. Elsewhere there is a rare funk gem from “Round Robin Monopoly,’ a nice latin album from ‘Roberto Roena’ and a gentle 50s jazz album from Chicago pianist John Wright, all reissued on Craft. There is also live album from Wilson Pickett in Stockholm on CD and a break beat compilation of the music of producer Arthur Baker.

This featured many classic titles in amazing condition, and although most of it sold very fast, there is still a few albums left. More from this collection in the coming weeks. A couple of weeks ago we putt up a good batch 70s and 80s soul 45s which you can view here. This adds to the list k of 60s soul 45s which you can see here if you missed, and we also added to our series of 12″ singles with part 15. We featured the first batch of 25 Original Vinyl Soul LPs from a large new collection that we will be purchasing over the next year, there are some great hard to find albums; quite a few sold out immediately and we have added a few where there were second copies to the list. Watch out for a batch of rare and classic Jazz and Jazz Funk albums coming soon.
As always we have a brilliant selection of original LPs and 12s that have been added to the site in recent weeks. This week we added some brilliant original soul LPs in addition to the batches of Philly Soul and Classic Soul we put up recently, plus two new batches of 12″ singles for funk, disco and house fans check them out here and here.
