New Releases, Reissues and Restocks | Friday 7th June

There are some really good new albums, reissues and restocks this week. Zan is one of the best retro 80’s boogie style new soul albums for sometime really strong throughout, available as a limited edition LP on BDQ records. On the same label Chris Bangs produced Nova Vida ‘Ritmo Davida’ has some nice latin-esq grooves including the singles ‘My Only’ and ‘Empty Faces’. Luther’s 1977 album ‘This Close To You’ gets a very long overdue reissue on LP and first time CD release.

The Soul Searchers excellent ‘Salt Of The Earth’ album gets a coke clear vinyl reissue. There are a couple of nice Jazz dance reissue albums this week from Ronnie April on Jazz Room and John Lemon quartet on Mo-Jazz, an Alice Coltrane on Impulse plus some classic Blue Note and Prestige analogue pressing. There is a nice double A side on Dynamite Cuts of the ‘Supremes Magic Disco Machine’ track ‘Bend A Little’
Pre-order for next week Sy Smith excellent ‘Until We Meet Again’ very limited edition LP touted by many as the Soul album of the year, Don Glori superb ‘Dont Forget To Have Fun’ LP and Citrus Sun ‘Anaconga’ CD, Lp due end of the month. Also pre-order for the delayed Edwin Starr 45 on Soul Brother and Barbara Randolph 45 on Outta sight both due mid to late June.see all the pre-order titles here.

We featured the first batch of 25 Original Vinyl Soul LPs from a large new collection that we will be purchasing over the next year, there are some great hard to find albums;  quite a few sold out immediately and we have added a few where there were second copies to the list. Watch out for a batch of rare and classic Jazz and Jazz Funk albums next week.
As always we have a brilliant selection of original LPs and 12s that have been added to the site in recent weeks. This week we added some brilliant original soul LPs in addition to the batches of Philly Soul and Classic Soul we put up recently, plus two new batches of 12″ singles for funk, disco and house fans check them out here and here. This is part of a larger group of 12″ singles from a recent collection into one group which you can view here.
