Album Of The Day | Tom Brock – I Love You More And More | 22nd March /2021

Tom Brock recorded this great Barry White produced album in 1974. ‘I Love You More and More’ is a brilliant two stepper with soulful vocals. ‘There’s Nothing in This World’ is a another highlight which was sampled by Jay-Z. The beat ballads ‘Have a Nice Weekend Baby’ and ‘The Love We Share Is The Greatest Of Them All’ and Motown influenced ‘ Naked as the Day I Was Born’ are also strong tracks. It's a mixed bag of releases this week with new albums from La Note on Futuristica, George Anderson, Jeremy Pelt and the Giles Peterson Indaba compilation now on LP as well as CD, plus two good Soul compilations from Kent and we have found a few more copies of the Dusty Springfield CD comp. There are some good Jazz vinyl reissues from Charles Rouse, Stanley Cowell, Freddie Hubbard and Milt Jackson.
