Sugaray Rayford has made a great new traditional Soul album with real horns etc he sounds a little like Benny Latimore and the music is not a million miles away from those on Daptone now out on LP as well as CD. New Releases Christian Scott releases the third instalment of his Jazz Centennial Trilogy 'Emancipation Procrastination' his most accessible to date. It is a remarkable achievement to record and release three new albums in one year , especially so in the 2000's. This a good deep jazz album to really get into. Eric Roberson also completes his Trilogy of EP's with 'Fire', lyrically the most satisfying record he has recorded for a long time. It is an amazing week for releases , there's something for everybody this week. Chantae Cann takes pride of place as album of the week with 'Sol Empowered' a beautiful album which features one of the tracks of the year 'The Light', really uplifting song that even after seven minutes leaves you wanting for more.
