Haggis Horns Trumpeter Malcolm Strachan has produced another really strong album featuring 7 new jazz grooves 'Look On The Bright Side'. 'Leave it All behind' is a lovely breezy upper tempo track. 'Latin Soul Shaker' is what you might expect from the title that has a 60s British Jazz vibe and a latin/soul vybe, one for the jazz dancers. Brian Jackson worked for ten years alongside Gil Scott Heron in the 70s writing and performing some of the best social conscious Soul music of its era. Those songs have stood the test if time and are still very relevant today. 'The Best Of Black Jazz' features 13 of the best tracks recorded for the label, encompassing Spiritual Jazz with elements of Soul and Funk.
