New releases

Malted Milk and Toni Green have recorded a superb Southern Soul album , which is released today on Cd and LP. Toni’s deep vocals and the grooves recall the era from when she made her first recordings in Memphis on Hi in the 70’s.  Lalah Hathaway continues her fathers legacy with a live album recorded in the same location as his famous ‘Live’ album.  Don-E makes a second volume of Future rare grooves based on original rare groove tracks.

45s and 12s

There are some fantastic singles this week, the previously unissued Dee Dee Warwick ‘You tore my world down’ is a killer 70’s Modern soul dancer, Groove Association and Soulutions 45’s are good tracks aimed straight at the contemporary modern soul/weekender scene. Sean Khan has a lovely jazz dancer 12″ mixed by Henry Woo. There have been some great 45’s recently check these out here.
