Terrace Martin has produced a superb contemporary sounding Jazz and Soul album which has more than a nod to the old school it features Lalah Hathaway, Perri Sisters and The Emotions amongst others. Collective Peace from Detroit have another great Jazz/Soul album, featuring Dwele and Amp Fiddler. As the title suggests, Dutch powerhouse Jazzy Soul band Tristan have quickly followed up last year’s excellent debut with a new full length release. Kicking off in unmistakable Tristan style ‘Supersize My Sunshine’ has a strong Incognito feel: jazzy horns, bubbling percussion and those great vocals from Evelyn Kallansee combine to create a memorable, fast paced opener. ‘Hey Sister’ has a positive message atop a real throwback jazz funk sound, ‘Tune In’, ‘Running Out Of Time’ and ‘Finally Found’ (the latter also has Heston joining in on vocal duties) are more mellow: less frantic but just as strong.
