New arrivals recommended releases 14th January 2016

Peo have made a really nice new soul album appropriately titled ‘Swede Soul Music’ and Karl Hector has a good Afro-Funk album. Anglo Saxon brown great Philly Soul album from 1975 ‘Songs for evolution’ is finally released on CD, and there is a good value 3 albums on 2 CD from Jimmy Castor Bunch.

Betty Boo ‘My Man Flint’ is an unissued 60’s Northern Soul floor filler backed with the instrumental. There are two great classic Blue Note 180gm reissue LP’s from Joe Henderson and Lee Morgan.

There are some great new releases coming in over the next three weeks. Greg Dean has a fantastic new soul album featuring Jarrod Lawson and Eric Roberson amongst others on vocals, and Ed Motta has made possibly his best album ft Patrice Rushen , Hubert Laws and a stella cast of musicians both released on 12th Feb. Goldswagger has a great uptempo soul album featuring many guest vocalist inc our good friend Maya Azucena, Honey La Rochelle and many others due end of the month, and the Killiam Shakespear on Ropeadope. There are some great reissues from Ashford and Simpson,Rose Royce, an unissued Larry Young Paris sessions 2CD with 70 page booklet  and a brilliant comp from Al Kent ‘Disco Love vol 4. It was great to meet so many of you at the Luxury Soul weekender in Blackpool last weekend.
