RSD 2021 Soul & Funk Titles

Record Store Day Soul and Funk titles for the June 12th drop are finally here. Titles are all limited and available in-store only from 0800 AM - 1800 PM, after which the remaining titles will become available online.

Joao Donato is the latest artist to feature in the excellent Jazz Is Dead series from Adrian Younge and Ali Shaeed Muhammad. Rebecca Vasmant is another new British Jazz artist with love from Glasgow, and Peckham's finest Ruby Rushton release a 4 track 12" EP Gideon's Way. Gilles Peterson showcase MV4 gets  welcome repress on White Vinyl, and Soul Jazz have a great compilation of Cuban music. There are loads of great releases this week , something for everybody.  Logan Richardson has made a really nice Jazz/|Soul album 'Afrofuturism, Gizelle Smith returns with another raw funky soul album and there are new albums from Immanuel Wilkins, Mark Letteri,Gianni Brezzo and finally availablev on vinyl Aaron Frazer. Great reissues from Curtis Mayfield (ltd blue vinyl), rare funk/soul from Carl Smith, three great titles on Black Jazz from Doug Carn ft Jean Carn and Gene Russell, rare Jazz/Soul from Greenflow and classic vocal jazz from Abbey Lincoln amongst others. Get on board the Soul Train is the first volume of the limited edition 50th Anniversary box sets from the Philadelphia International label featuring eight early albums from the label on remastered Cds plus a bonus 12" single and book about the label.
