New Releases, Reissues and Restocks | Friday 14th February

There are some good new releases, reissues and restocks this week. Tuxedo return with Tuxedo IV, a nice retro 80s Soul/Boogie album available in limited quantity on Cd and LP. There are some interesting new releases, reissues and restocks this week. Kendrick Lamar has a new album on CD black nd coloured vinyl, Marvin's classic 'Whats Going On' has a limited edition green vinyl release and there are nice Blue Note Tone Poet releases from Horace Parlan and Dizzy Reece. It's a bumper week for new releases and reissues this week. Expansion release Paradise Projex's album 'I Am You', a nice retro 80's sounding album. Roy Hargrove's magnificent latin jazz album 'Grand Terre' is finally available on CD as well as LP. Jazzman releases the latest installment of Spiritual Jazz volume 17 focusing on the Saba and MPS catalogue with some unusual and interesting tracks. The Montclairs only album from 1972 'Dreaming Out Of Season' ft Phil Perry gets a welcome reissue, and there is a nice compilation of Gene Chandler's Constellation recordings and there is an unreleased Brothers Johnson live album from 1980 (I saw them in London around this time, they were great live). There are some great reissues this week on music on vinyl from Bobby Wilson (classic rare 70s Soul), Dexter Wansel (incl The Sweetest Pain) and Freddie Hubbard (Funky early 70s jazz). ALbum Of The Day | Bobby Wilson – I’ll Be Your Rainbow

Bobby Wilson recorded his only album 'I'll Be Your Rainbow' on Buddah in 1975 , in three studios across America.  The first four tracks were cut at United in Detroit,  arranged by Paul Riser and include the killer two stepper 'Deeper and Deeper' , Northern/Modern dancer 'Let Me Put Love Back' , nice ballads 'Hey Girl' and title track. The first weekend of the year heralds the Luxury Soul weekender and the 3CD Luxury Soul 2025 box set which has arrived this morning. Expansion also has two new 45s from Jean Carne and Paradise Project, available as regular dinked or limited edition full centre DJ copies. Myles Sanko has made another great album available as a limited edition Cd and LP, don't sleep on this as we are unlikely to get more once this batch sells out.
