Moonchild have made a really good album, that fully deserves to be our album of the week. If you enjoyed the recent Mad Satta and Haitus Kaiyote albums, check out the band who influenced them. Brooklyn Funk Essentials return after 20 years with a strong album. Toni Redd has made probably her best to date ‘Her Reddness’, Kashif’s 90’s album ‘Who loves you’ is reissued with some bonus cuts and Groove Odyssey have compiled a good Soulful house double set of Basement Boys recordings.

Koute Jazz is an amazing collection of French West Indian jazz recordings in stock on  Cd : Vinyl is in next week. Check this out  there are some great tracks included.
Marvin Gaye volume one 1961-65 box set is now available on CD, and Volume Two 1966-70 is now released on an 8LP box set. Tina Brooks classic  (and rare) hard bop Blue Note album ‘True Blue’ makes a welcome return on 180gm vinyl.
You may have seen the excellent documentary on James Brown ‘Mr Dynamite’ on TV last year, it is now released on DVD with additional footage and interviews with Fred Wesley, Maceo, Bootsy  etc. This is essential for every JB fan.

Radio Show

Sorry I was unable to present a new show last Sunday, but i will be back this Sunday on Solar Radio/sky 0129 at 10am for another Soul Brother Selection. You can now pick it up on DAB in Central London and Norwich, but you will have to reset your radio for it to show.
