New releases and pre-orders 20th December 2019

This is the final new release newsletter before Christmas and we’d like to take the opportunity to thank all our customers for their continued support over the past twelve months and wish everyone a peaceful holiday period.

New releases this week are mainly focused on vinyl – the Bobby Harden 7″ is sold out in most places and we have just a limited few copies of this superb new northern soul tune. Also check the chugging funk of Scone Cash Player’s organ screamer ‘Canned Champagne’ as well as the stunning, punchy crossover of Doulas (sic) & Lonero’s ‘This Time’, backed with the  modern classic ‘Don’t Let Yourself Get Carried Away’.

Outta Sight come with the goods with a new comp looking at the New York Dynamo records imprint, there are no less than 7 Fela Kuti reissues while Jackie Wilson’s 1968 ‘Do Your Thing’ LP also gets a re-release (check the pacey funker ‘Why Don’t You Do Your Thing’ and the mid tempo gem ‘To Change My Love’). Donald Byrd’s 1961 hard bop ‘Live At the Village Cafe Vol 1′ and Wayne Shorters’ sparkling ‘Juju’ from August 1964 are also essential. There’s also stunning 13 CD box set housed in a clam shell case of Tubby Hayes’ Fontana works spanning 1961 – 1970.

RANDY MULLER IN STORE 28TH DECEMBER
We are delighted to welcome Brass Construction and Skyy legend Randy Muller into the store on December 28th. He’ll be meeting fans and signing copies of his great new CD ‘Welcome To My Life’ as well as recounting his times back in the 70s with the two seminal funk groups he was part of.
