There are some very good new releases and reissues this week. Kamaal Williams is one half of Yussef Kamaal that took us all by a storm with ‘Black Focus’ a couple of years ago. Henry Wu (Kamaal Williams) ‘Returns’ which will further enhance the reputation of underground London based New Jazz.it is available on CD, LP and limited edition White Vinyl.
Chip Wickham returns with another strong album of UK Jazz, this one more on the spiritual jazz side. Florian Pellissier has another good new jazz album, and there are further good new jazz albums this week from Tia Fuller, Kenny Barron, Potatohead People, Kenny Barron and smooth jazz from Vincent Ingala. Basia, Jeffrey Osborne, The Temptations and gospel singer Keith Wonderboy Johnson provide the new vocal albums this week.
There are some great reissues this week with the two live Grant green rsd albums now out on CD.
Matheus Segundo Matheus has a good Brazilian album and there are several good soul compilations
Westbound Disco, On the Soul Side and Masterpiece and Nighttime Lovers. plus a great Afro Beat comp African Scream contest 2. Good vinyl reissues from Dierdre Wilson Tabac, Chuck Jackson and a good lesser known Whispers 12″.
