The long awaited Disco Soul Gold 2 CD is out this week, with 19 contemporary Modern soul gems mixed by Nigel Lowis. Alfa Mist have a really good new Jazz album, mainly instrumental but ft Jordan Rakei on LP only. Bobby Oroza is a Finnish Blue eyed soul singer and his album ‘This love’ is really nice retro soul.
There two outstanding Spiritual jazz reissues on the ever reliable Pure Pleasure 180gm analogue label. Adele Sebastian ‘Desert Fairy Princess”’ and Dadisi Komolafe ””Hassans Walk” are both from the Nimbus West catalogue and are brilliant albums not to be missed, and the sound of these reissues is if anything better than the very expensive reissues. 9th Creation unreleased album is not in on LP, there is another good comp from Martin Freeman and Eddie Piller and two 4 albums on 2 cds from Rodney Franklin.
Great singles this week from Leos Sunship, Miroslav Vitous, Bobby Womack two from,Dee Edwards, plus we have good copies of the previously faulty Spirit RSD 12″ and due to demand and to use up leftover labels a small number of un-numbered Sharon Ridley and Ronnie McNeir 45s.
You can see all pre-order titles here, the Luther My Body RSD 12″ is coming back in on Tuesday.
We still have good stocks on many RSD titles although some are now down to our last few copies, you can see all the titles we still have sorted by music genre here.
Our second Barbara Lynn 45 on the Soul brother label is now in stock as a regular 45 and a limited quantity of 100 numbered DJ Copies. These are two great in demand tracks that sound much more contemporary than their mid 60’s origins, check out the video here.
I hope that you enjoyed the show last week, if you missed it you can catch it on the podcast here. I hope that you can join me again this sunday at 10am for another Soul brother selection on Solar radio/sky0129, DAB+ or the Solar app.
