New releases and pre-orders 11th May 2018

It is another great week for releases with many top drawer new albums and reissues.

Top of the pile is Sean Khan whose ‘Palmares Fantasy’ is a fantastic new Jazz album recorded with Hermeto in Brazil, truly timeless beautiful music, The CD is in now pre-order for the LP for 25th. K.Avett also has a very strong new Soul album , something of a rarity in itself for this year, she hails from Texas and there are definite comparisons to N”Dambi in her music. MF Robots album has been long awaited and the album will please fans of Brand New Heavies, again CD is in now LP on 25th.
Ezra Collective are one of the leading emerging London based jazz bands and their album is now available on Vinyl, also check band member Joe Armon-Jones album from last week.Leon Bridges made his mark with his debut a couple of years ago and returns with another dose of retro early 60’s sounding Soul. James Creole Thomas has a great new jazz album on the acclaimed 22a label, plus their is music from the film Black Panther ft Kendrick Lamar and others.
There are also some good reissues with two albums from Leroy Hutson on cd and LP,  Caesar Frazier’s very funky Jazz Eastbound debut album ‘Hail Frazier’ , Marlena Shaw, Santana and Brazilian rarity Burnier & Cartier now available on vinyl as well as CD. Alex Attias has a strong compilation on BBE.


Pre-order for later in the month the Sean Khan and MF Robots LP’s , plus a great new album from Kamaal Williams and more  plus just added the amazing new Kamasi Washington album out on 22th June which is likely to be one of the albums of the year. See all the pre-order titles here.


We still have in stock many of the RSD exclusive vinyl releases and in fact have just had back in a few more of the in demand Chic produced Johnny Mathis album and the instrumental hip-hop 9th Wonder set both of which sold out on the day, these are likely to be the last copies of these so don’t sleep on them. Next week we will be focusing on some of the lesser known great records that came out on RSD, so watch out for that.


The Ropeadope label had four new titles last week and we are now back in stock of most of their main titles. You can see all the great Ropeadope titles here.


We have more copies of the two best soul CD albums of the year so far, coming back into stock on Monday. Tatiana Lady May Mayfield and Isaiah Sharkey have made superb albums that are worthy of any collection. Check them out if you haven’t already got these.
