NEW RELEASES

Ty Causey is the Mr Reliable of contemporary Soul, a little like a modern day Tyrone Davis having released a string of no frills good quality Soul albums most years in the last decade and a half. He returns with his second album of this year, a gospel influenced Soul album ‘God is love’ which is well worth checking out.

Trumpeter Keyon Harrold may be as new name to us but he is accompanied by Robert Glasper, James Poyser, Terrace Martin, Bilal and Georgia Ann Muldrow and many others on his debut ‘The Mugician’ which is reminiscent of Glasper’s early Experiement albums. Euge Groove keeps the Smooth Jazz flag flying with a nice instrumental album.Houston person and Hynotic Brass ensemble have good solid new Jazz albums.

The Impressions are one of the all time great vocal harmony groups, two of their best albums are coupled on a great value CD and ‘Times have Changed’ feat Leroy Hutson on lead vocals is issued on LP with a gatefold sleeve.

Ethereal Magic 3 is the latest in Tony Monson’s series featuring tracks he features on his popular radio show.

There are some great Jazz reissue albums, most of these are now actually out of print titles which we have found a few copies of. There are some real gems including the sound tracks to ‘Coffy’, ‘Willie Dynamite’ and ‘Car Wash’ and some Blue Note 75th anniversary 12″ and 10″ albums. We have also found a few more copies of the Marvin Gaye/Donald Byrd ‘woman of the world 12″, which are likely to be the last we have, so get in quick if you missed this.

PRE-ORDERS

Pre-order for next week ‘Soul on the Realside vol 8’ CD, and Sam Dees ‘show must go on ‘ reissue LP both due on Wednesday , in time to ship to you before Christmas.Also in the pre-order section due early in January are Luxury soul 2018 cd and Wants list 4 cd/lp. ORIGINAL JAZZ ALBUMS

Check out these lists of great Jazz LP’s that have just arrived. There are some 70’s/80’s reissue of superb mainly hard bop jazz albums which are now very hard to find. These records are mainly in outstanding condition as individually graded. These are going first, so please order early to avoid disappointment.
