New releases and pre-orders 21st of September 2018

I hope that you can join us tomorrow Saturday 22 September to meet the lovely and very bubbly Natasha Watts who will be in store from 1pm signing copies of her great new album ‘My Next Chapter’. There is always a good vibe when Natasha is in store. if you can’t make it but would like a signed copy you can pre-order one here.
There are some good new jazz albums this week from Christian Sands and The Yellowjackets and many more to come next week Ed Motta, Kim Waters Cecile McClorin Salvant, see the pre-order section here. Macy Gray has a new album on CD and ltd Red Vinyl.
Soul Brother’s latest 45 reissue is here a week early Johnnie Taylor ‘Ain’t That Loving You’ /’Blues in The Night’ is a fantastic value Double A sider with two brilliant mid 60’s sides,  The first a mid tempo ballad/two stepper , the other a R&B Soul dancer heralded by the Northern Soul and Mod scenes. It comes with a specially designed retro 60’s style label.
There are other good 45’s from Michael Wycoff, Foster Sylvers and The Sylvers plus Pharoah Sanders classic ‘You Got to have freedom on a 12″. There is also a good comp on Outta Sight, celebrating 45 years of Wigan Casino.
Earth Wind & Fire classic album ‘All N All’ has a numbered limited edition burnt Orange coloured Vinyl issue on MOV. George Duke’s entire  MPS output is released on high quality vinyl including the sought after ‘Inner Source’. Monk Higgins Soul/Jazz classic ‘Extra Soul Perception’ is now out on Vinyl , also check out the funky Dur Dur band of Somalia and Uniting of Opposites for something a little more left field.

Graham Jones book ‘The Vinyl Revival and the Shops that made it happen’ is an interesting book with many amusing stories from independent record shops including Soul Brother Records.
