This week we have for new releases we have The Dip , a 6 piece soul band Seattle with their album ‘Love Direction’ . This is their fourth album and released on Dualtone Records, a combination of steet soul, funk and rock n roll sounds creating a nice retro sounding record. Kelli Sae has a lovely new 45 titled ‘Good Feeling’ an uplifting summery bossa tune and Bette Smith releases a new album ‘Goodthing,’ a gritty soul album with similarities to Betty Davis, available on CD.
It is a great week for reissues featuring some all time classic titles and some that we have not seen for a while. Banda Black Rio’s 1980 album Saci Perre gets reissued on yellow vinyl and CD, a great album featuring the brilliant track ‘Miss Cheryl’. There is Thelonious Monk ‘Monk’s Blues’ an album from 1968, Monk is accompanied by a big band, arranged by Oliver Nelson. There is also ‘Mother Nature’s Son’ by Ramsey Lewis, a brilliant jazz album of Beatles covers, plus reissues of Thembi by Pharoah Sanders, and ‘A Real Mother For Ya’ by Johnny Guitar Watson. For Blue Notes, ‘Somethin’ Else’ and ‘Sidewinder’ are in on Japanese reissue.

A couple of weeks ago we putt up a good batch 70s and 80s soul 45s which you can view here. This adds to the list k of 60s soul 45s which you can see here if you missed, and we also added to our series of 12″ singles with part 15. We featured the first batch of 25 Original Vinyl Soul LPs from a large new collection that we will be purchasing over the next year, there are some great hard to find albums; quite a few sold out immediately and we have added a few where there were second copies to the list. Watch out for a batch of rare and classic Jazz and Jazz Funk albums coming soon.
As always we have a brilliant selection of original LPs and 12s that have been added to the site in recent weeks. This week we added some brilliant original soul LPs in addition to the batches of Philly Soul and Classic Soul we put up recently, plus two new batches of 12″ singles for funk, disco and house fans check them out here and here.
