New Releases, Reissues and Restocks | Friday 15th September

There are some really good reissues and restocks this week. Firstly Tidal Waves have released two rare and in demand 70’s Jazz/Jazz-Fusion albums from The Mixed Bag ft Eddie Russ and Headhunters bassist Paul Jackson japanese released album ‘Black Octopus’.Lee Moses classic ‘Time And Place’ gets a welcome reissue on Psychedelic Soul Splatter colour wax, all of these are likely to be in very limited supply.
We are also back in stock of some really nice Japanese Reissues on Lp and Cd from The Lovelites (both the original album and singles compilation) , The Topics and Eric Dunbar (sounds a bit like Ohio Players meets Johnny Guitar Watson). Also back in our great European reissues from O.T.Sykes, Free Love, Edwin Starr and the amazing Fats Gaines Band featuring Zorina, all very worthy additions to your Soul collection, and all in limited supply. Also back in are the recent and excellent Don Glori LP and Nicola Conte LP and CD. Just as a reminder too, we are now in stock of both Yussef Dayes ‘Black Classical Music’ LP (CD to arrive soon), and the Matthew Halsall ‘An Ever Changing View’ LP and CD. Both of these are brilliant albums and certain contenders for top new jazz albums of the year.
We have found a secret stash of Grant Green ‘Funk In France’ LP from RSD a few years ago in the back of the shop, long out of print so grab this whilst you can.
The six new 45’s on the Soul Brother label sound amazing and have been very well received. There is some great rare soul music on these, available as regular dinked or full centre DJ Copies, check them out here.
