New Releases, Reissues and Restocks | Friday 26 April

There are some good new releases, reissues and restocks this week. The Jazz Defenders have a new album of classic jazz grooves, and the Andre 3000 instrumental album is now available on vinyl. Jalen Ndonga has another non album track 45 , there is an unreleased pairing of Sharon Jones cuts and a new one from Leon Dinero all very good on the Daptone label.There are some good jazz vinyl reissues from Sonny Rollins, Red Garland, Gerry Mulligan, Chico Hamilton, Thelonious Monk and Latin jazz from Ray & His Court and Ray Barretto.The Rollins is amongst some nice CD reissues that includes Parliament ‘Osmium’ expanded edition, unissued Cannonball Adderley and Yusef Lateef and the Gilles Peterson Timeless Jazz compilation which were out on RSD on vinyl, there is also an early Ohio Players set and Ace compilation of HDH songbooks.

Big thanks to everybody who came here on Record Store Day last Saturday , as usual there was a great vibe throughout the day, I think we managed the queue pretty well (no queuing after 10) and most people got the majority of what they came for.  Also thank you for the enormous amount of orders placed online on Monday night. We are working through them well and most orders will be shipped by tonight and the remainder by Monday. Don’t worry if you have placed an order and not shipped yet, we have managed to fill every RSD order 100% this year, just please bear with us whilst we get them packed and posted.
We still have many of the RSD exclusive titles in stock including all the Soul 45s, and have managed to restock many lines that we sold out on Monday like Gil Scott Heron, Lamont Dozier, Soho Scene 57. You can see all the titles available by music genre here.
Make sure you check out the restocks for this week, we have some great albums back in including Milt Jackson’s ‘Sunflower’, Arthur Verocai, Olli Ahvenlahti’s ‘The Poet’, and Guru’s ‘Jazzmatazz’.
