New Releases, Reissues and Restocks | Friday 29th March

Firstly I’d like to wish you all a very happy Easter. We are open today and tomorrow but closed on Sunday and Monday.

There are some great new releases, reissues and restocks in this week.
Dee C Lee has a new album on Acid Jazz, The New Mastersounds have another good funk and soul album, The Sorcerers an album of Ethiopic inspired funky jazz, Kaidi Tatham, and Amanda Whiting a beautiful album of harp-led jazz/soul plus Norman Brown has a new smooth jazz set. Thee Sacred Soul have an instrumental version of their album.
There are some great reissues with Cymande on black vinyl, Lonnie Smith’s essential ‘Afro-desia’, Johnny Lytle’s rare ‘People In Love’ including the jazz dancer ‘Tawhid’, Candi Staton’s self-titled classic album, 3 great rare soul albums from Classic Example, Chosen Few and Ella Washington, plus rare albums from Ron Carter and Eddie Fisher. A couple of good vinyl comps from BGP, and Kent have a nice Atlanta Hotbed of 70s Soul CD, and there is a great value Northern Soul 3CD and 2LP set.
There are also some nice 45s; new tracks from Michele David and The Tru-Tones, and Betty Black plus some good reissues from Act One, Soul Children, Jesse Davis, Bobby Garrett and Bob & Earl Band, Tobi Lark and Van Jones and yet another new 12 from East Coast Love Affair. We are back in stock of a few classic albums.
Pre-order for next week for Michele David & The True Tones’ album, the delayed Invitations 45, a couple of new Blue Note Tone Poets and the rescheduled Ledisi album which will now be import copies as the European release was withdrawn at very short notice, with more being loaded next week. This month we are celebrating the 30th Anniversary of our shop which opened in March 1994! We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in the month to celebrate.

Saturday 20th April is record store day and the list of titles has just been published, which you can view here. We have placed all orders and will be uploading the titles over the next two to three weeks. We will aim to stock most of the Soul, Jazz, Reggae etc titles and some of the more general releases, but baring in mind that records will be sold on  first come first served basis on the day in accordance with the rules. Soul Brother is also proud to be releasing China Burton’s classic ‘You Don’t Care About Our Love’ on 12″ single.

We are still processing several new collections that have recently arrived. This week we published two great selections jazz-fusion albums all at £10 each, see them here and here.
