Aguabella – Desire / Case Fuerte (Dynamite Cuts) Dynamite cuts have accrued themselves a sterling reputation as a label that releases quality music on seven inch without compromise. Straddling Soul, Jazz, Rare-Groove and Latin, Malachi Trout has been hard at work licensing album cuts from the likes of James Mason, The Mighty Ryeders, Weldon Irvine and many more. The label generally reissues rare and inaccessible titles, solely on seven inch, a DJs delight and good news for the thrifty collector. The sevens always come in sealed picture sleeves with hi resolution scans of the original album artwork on and...
Another great rare soul album from Cleveland Ohio made in 1977. The beautiful modern soul mid tempo title track has great lyrics, and the modern/northern dancers ‘Since You Said You’d Be Mine’ and ‘What Should I Do’ are solid floor fillers. The ballad ‘Its Got To Change’ and the ‘Hi’ sounding ‘What Happened to The Feeling’ and ‘Just Being For You’ are well worth checking. This album was quoted by BBC Financial News website recently as being ‘The Best soul album you’ve never heard’ Buy the LP HERE Check out the tracks below Lou Ragland - Understand Eachother Lou Ragland...
There are five great 45's on the Soul Brother and Expansion labels that have just arrived. All titles are available as both regular dinked or limited edition full centre DJ Copy versions. There are 100 hand numbered Barbara Lynn DJ Copies which will surely be very collectable in future times. It has been discovered that the Bill Summers Singles have a mispressed B side featuring 'Dream Of Love' instead of 'Don't fade away' as advertised on the label. We understand that the record will be repressed with the correct music later which we will offer for preorder later in the week. Tania...
You’re feeling that you might be missing a certain glide in your stride and a dip in your hip during these uncertain times, then perhaps you might benefit from some funk on your record player. Well, cometh the hour, cometh the men. Boston’s Lettuce may have been in the game for some thirty years, but their latest (double) album Unify, suggests that they’re still running with a finely tuned engine, which shows no sign of grinding to a halt. In fact, they’ve even managed to get the great Bootsy Collins on board to bring some primetime P-Funk to the very fine...

Sunny and The Sunliners have been making Latino Soul/Rhythm and Blues since the 60's. 'Mr Brown Eyed Soul Vol 2' is a nice album of ballads, mid tempo dancers and a couple of funkier tunes all delivered with very soulful vocals, nice harmony backing and real instrumentation including horns. There are some nice covers of Billy Stewart's 'Sitting In The Park', and Eddie Floyd's 'I've Never Found A Girl' along with some original tracks. 'I'm No Stranger' sounds like an early 70's Modern Soul crossover dancer, 'If I Could See You Know' is an uptempo cut whilst 'Come Back Baby'...
We've just recieved more copies of some of the previously sold out Japanese CD's that we had in. We don't know if these are the last that our supplier has but we've managed to source more titles of the CD's that were sold out very quickly the last time they were put on our site. Many of these titles are very hard to find on CD - let alone as such high quality audiophile Japanese copies - so secure yourselves copies before they are gone. We aren't likely to be getting any more in. New titles include Eddie Palmieri's Harlem...
Sunny and the Sunliners have been making Latino/Texas brown eyed Soul for many decades but on their new album 'Brown Eyed soul Vol 2' they may well crossover in the Soul scene with great tracks like 'I'm No Stranger' and the funkier 'Come Back Baby', available on CD. LP and limited coloured vinyl. Brian Jackson's excellent album 'This Is Brian Jackson' is now available on LP as well as CD. Dave Lee has 'Produced With Love II is a good modern disco album. The Jazz Is Dead series has two Cd releases this week 11 and 13. Kool and The Gang are...
Often affectionately referred to as the "Godfather of British Latin music" Robin Jones was truly one of the great performers on the international Latin scene, a multi-instrumentalist drummer/percussionist who went on to teach some of the leading lights in British percussion such as Mark “Snowboy” Cotgrove and Will Fry. His recordings and earlier tracks generated renewed interest in the London Jazz-Dance Scene in the late 70's, some of his recordings achieving iconic status on cooler floors across the capital and beyond. His legacy as a pioneer of British Latin music continues to burn brightly, garnering continued admiration from younger generations....
