New releases – Albums/CDs

There are a couple of really good new albums this week. Firstly we have the second album from Lindsey Webster who is filling the void for quality sophisticated soul vacated by Sade many years ago. Her self titled debut was good, but ‘You Change’ elevates her to another level, check out the clips. Snarky Puppy’s keyboard man Shaun Martin has taken seven years to record his debut CD ‘7 Summers’ but it has been worth the wait. The Soul vocal tracks are quality mid tempo’s but the jazz tracks are outstanding. Both of these sets are likely to amongst the best of the year. Sam Reed is another new name and her debut is definitely worth checking out.
MFSB ‘s ‘Universal Love’ is one of their best albums and gets a welcome CD issue, and the popular 80’s groove Masterpiece series reaches volume 20.
