Top releases of the week – 8th March 2013

There may not be that many new releases this week but the Quality is high. Phil Perry's smooth delivery has enchanted us for 30 years, and his new album of covers 'Say Yes'  will delight his many fans. Lynn Marie is a new name to us but the Detroit vocalist with a great voice has made 2 previous albums before 'Phoenix' , but this will be the album that puts here firmly on the map, Quality female soul. Top releases of the week – 1st March 2013

Another fine week for releases. New Releases It's another great week for new releases and reissues.  Bilal has returned to his Soul roots and made an interesting album. What a Great week for new releases. Will Downing finally releases his first independent  album 'Silver' which features some of the tracks from his 3 EP's plus some new tracks. Kat Webb has made a nice independent soul album and Tatiana Lady May Mayfield bridges Soul and jazz on her excellent album. Johnny Conga has made a great contemporary Latin jazz album. Top releases of the week – 8th February 2013

There are two excellent jazz albums this week. Firstly from Detroit/|Tribe trombonist Phil Ranelin who has made a great contemporary Spiritual Jazz album very much in the style of his classics from the 70's. Secondly Modern Sounds of Italy 3 provides a good introduction to the great new jazz coming out of that country. Osunlade creates a very moody album , which is only being released on Vinyl. Top releases of the week – 25th January 2013

What a great week for releases and re-issues. Gaetano Partipilo has released one of the best new Italian Jazz albums for a couple of years to bring some warmth during this cold January, absolute quality album. Charlie Wilson has a good new set and the very limited (250) Valentine Brothers 45 is a monster sounding substantially better on vinyl than the CD cut, and with a great flipside as well, making it an essential purchase.
