I am sure that you will join me in wishing Will Fox every success in his new job with Demon Music. Will has been our shop manager for the past 3 years and has been associated with the shop for nearly a decade making a significant contribution to Soul Brother. His last day with us is tomorrow Saturday 22nd July.
It’s a massive week for new releases, reissues and restocks of some great titles.
Firstly another two of the Soul Brother new reissue 45’s have arrived, great rare tracks from The Reason Why (prod by Willie Hutch) and The Checkmates both available as regular dinked 45’s or limited edition full centre DJ copies. Nicola Conte returns with his best album in a while with ‘Umoja’ ft Miles Sanko, Zara McFarlane and Bridgette Amofah on vocals and some great musicians.Bobby Harden & The Soulful Saints excellent retro soul ‘Bridge Of Love’ album is now also available on CD, as well as LP.
Rita Ray has another retro soul album and Melonyx a Jazzy Neo-Soul album on Tru Thoughts.
Kaidi Tatham has a new album of Broken beats and we are back in stock of both the excellent Don Glori LP and amazing Malcolm Strachan album.
There are some really good and rare Soul reissues this week from Bobby Boyd, Al Johnson, Next movement, Eric Dunbar and we are back in stock of Fats Gaines Band, Smoke and Spice in limited quantities. There are also reissues of classics from Isaac Hayes, Edwin Starr, Martha & The Vandellas, Jackson 5 and The Supremes.
There are also some nice Jazz reissues from Al Tannar Quintet, Grupo Medusa, Bill Evans and Wes Montgomery plus we are back in stock of classic titles on Jazz Room from Hugo Heredia, Robin Jones and Khan Jamal, plus an unreleased Live Cd from Kenny Wheeler.
In addition to the Soul Brother titles, there are also good 45s from Emilia Sisco and Cold Diamond and Mink, Ruth Waters and Chris Clark on Outta Sight.
We still have a very few signed copies of Acantha Lang excellent Beautiful Dreams Cd and Lp available whilst stocks last, one of The best Soul albums of 2023.
