What an incredible week for releases. There are many top drawer new albums and CD and Vinyl Reissues this week. Frank McComb is top of the pile with one of his best ever albums ‘Soul Mate’ quality Soul throughout, and check his incredible Funky Jazzy version of ‘Superstition’- killer !, he also has a tribute to Donny Hathaway album. Tyrone Hendrix also has an unmissable album featuring Jarrod Lawson, Saeeda Wright and Farnell Newton. Ropeadope also have other good albums from Future Prospect, Edgewood Agents, Southwes Terminal, Trio Subtronic and Winston Byrd. Joey DeFrancesco and Charlie Hunter also have interesting Jazz albums and the amazing Florian Pellisier Qt ‘Cap De Bonne’ album is now in on Vinyl
Reissues
There are good reissue CD’s from Alton McClain, GQ, Dexter Wansel amongst others, cd/lp albums from Brazilians Banda Black Rio and Azymuth and a great comp of Brazilian grooves plus Parliament have a great value 5Cd set of P-Funk extravaganza.
Vinyl
There are some great Vinyl reissues from Air (wicked early 70’s Jazzy/funky grooves), Funk Factory, Mike James Kirkland, George Benson all time classic Breezin, Miles, Mingus and a couple of early Nat Birchall albums on vinyl, plus a nice re-edit of Stevie wonder’s original take on Dont make me wait too long by Reflex and 5 track EP from Kylie Auldist Family Tree album
