Cornell Cc Carter has recorded possibly his best album to date ‘Absoulutely’ which is arriving on CD on Monday. The LP will be later in the month. The Pendletons have created a very authentic early 80’s sound boogie and two step with a really nice album ‘2 Steps away’ . Kirk Whalum is one of the premier saxophonists and his new album ‘Humanite’ features many guest vocalists. Leo Richardson is another good Uk based saxophonist ‘Move’ will further establish him.
Kaidi Tatham returns with another really good 12″ single , this guy is still really hot !
There are a couple of good soul compilations plus there are a load of great vinyl LP reissues of classic Soul and Jazz albums this week.
This Saturday 12 October is national album day and we are delighted to welcome Bryony Jarman-Pinto who will be here signing copies of her excellent ‘Cage and Aviary’ album between 1pm -2.30pm and we will be playing the album back. We will also be playing many classic 90’s and 00’s Soul and Jazz albums including some of the albums of the year so far, maybe including Durand Jones and the Indications which is just back in stock on LP.
I hope you can join us to meet Bryony and to celebrate the culture of the album. We plan to have some signed copies to sell on line on Monday stock permitting.
