New releases and pre-orders 23rd of November 2018

It is an amazing week for releases this week.  Will Sessions and Amp Fiddler have made an absolute belter of an album featuring Dames Brown. Hard, soulful boogie of the highest order: imagine The Eighties Ladies jamming with an underground Detroit Boogie producer in 1981.  The LP is in now CD is expected next week. We have a great new Soul album from Vivian Sessoms on Ropeadope. We are introducing a great independent soul artist from L.A. Raquel Rodriquez. We have an album on CD and LP plus 2 EP Cd’s and 2 45’s from this new talent. You can watch the video of her in store and listen to an interview with her here.
Outta Sight have a great new compilation Soul on the Realside Vol 9 which has arrived early and is in store now. It is another good addition to this great series.
J.P. Bemini has made a good retro soul album, his story of recovering from being a refugee to a recording artist is a heartening one.
Fima Ephron continues the legacy of Ropeadope with another good jazz album. Cesar Mariano ‘Sao paulo Brasil’ is classic Brazilian Jazz Fusion album from the 70’s a bit like Azymuth, now reissued on Cd and LP. There are also some good comps from Soul Jazz plus a copule of great 12″ from Sylvia Striplin and Polish Jazz EABS on 22a.
Today is Black Friday RSD and there are loads of great releases for the day.
The highlights are Herbie Hancock’s brilliant ‘Flood’,  David Axelrod ‘Earth Rot’  and jazz sets from Eric Dolphy, Cannonball Adderley and Brian Auger but you can check the complete list here. Records are available in store today and on line from tomorrow.
