New releases and pre-orders 4th of October 2019

Soul Togetherness 2019 is hot off the presses now in stock on both LP and Cd formats, shipping today and in store for shop collection over the weekend. Ronin Arkestra from Japan have made an outstanding new jazz album ‘Sonkei’ available on LP. Mr reliable Ty Causey has another good new album ‘Hypnotic’ , he is such a consistent Soul artist. Ramsey Lewis now in his 80’s has reunited with Urban knghts and made a really good album ‘VII’ . Down to the Bone have a remix double CD, and there are new Jazz albums from Portico Quartet, Bill Evans, and Dave Liebman and co.

The delayed Edwards Generation album is in today on both formats, good previously unreleased Soul. Nat Adderley’s classic album ‘Don’t look now’ is now out on reissue LP and Paul Murphy has compiled a great set for BBE ‘The Jazz Room’. There are also some good 12″ and 45’s .

The Larombe and Kansas City Express 45’s from last week are now back in but this could be the last batch of them, so don’t miss out.

Our new catalogue has finally arrived and is available in store over the weekend, mailing out on Monday. You can see our massive albums and singles of the month -Autumn here.

Next Saturday 12th October is National album day and we are delighted to welcome Bryony Jarman-Pinto to the store from 1pm to 2.30pm with an playback of her critically acclaimed debut album ‘Cage & Aviary’. I hope that you can join us, Bryony will be signing copies of CD and LP, talking to customers and answering any questions and available for photos with you.To celebrate we will be playing back classic albums everyday all week starting this Sunday and publishing lists of classic albums by genre with the schedule as follows :-

R.I.P John Anderson – Soul Bowl

Very saddened to learn of the passing of legendary Rare Soul dealer John Anderson (of Soul Bowl, Grapevine and Soul Junction). John was one of the first Soul dealers in the UK and helped me when I was getting started selling records in the early 70’s and has helped most Soul collectors over the years, a true gentleman as well.
