New Releases and Pre-Orders, Friday 17th Feb 23

Detroit Tribe label Jazz legends Phil Ranelin and Wendell Harrison are the latest artists to be featured in the Jazz is Dead series with Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad which reaches volume 16 !. Blue Note have a new album ‘Transmissions From The Total Refreshment Centre’ featuring contemporary mainly london based artists. There are also two more in the Blue Note classic series of analogue 180gm masters from Jackie McLean and Horace Parlan plus we have a Rat Pack/Blue note issue of Hank Mobley’s classic ‘Workout’.

We are finally back in stock of Carmichael Musiclover ‘Black Elvis’ CDs and some nice Jazz funk cd’s on the Vocalion label.
Record store day is 23rd April and the list of products has just been released which you can see here. We will be listing the titles that we will be stocking nearer the time, but if you are planning on joining us on the day and there are specific titles that you would like us to stock please let us know in the next two weeks so we can order them (baring in mind that we cannot reserve product). There have been some quite large price increases from many labels including Music On Vinyl, Ace and universal group of labels. We still have a large selection of titles available at the old prices whilst stocks last , but restocks will be between £3 to £10 (a few are more than that) more expensive when we reorder, so take your chance to buy these great albums at the old prices whilst they last. The new reissues on Soul Brother from FBI LP and Johnny Hammond ‘Gamblers Life’ LP and CD sound great and have been flying out. as has the Webster Lewis Anthology CD and LP compiled by Will Fox and Ralph Tee LP grab your copies now if you haven’t already purchased
The new 45’s on Soul Brother and Expansion have also been very well received. We still have regular dinked and limited edition full centre Dj Copies of the excellent in demand 45s from China Burton and Betty Everett on Soul Brother and classics from Pleasure and The Blackbyrds on Expansion, see the feature here.
