Myele Manzanza delivers the third volume of his Crisis & Opportunity series, another gem, this album features Omar, Rosie Frater -Taylor and China Moses on vocals. Myele will be in store tomorrow Sat 10th December from 1pm signing copies, i hope that you can join us to meet him.
Takuya Kuroda’s excellent Funky Jazz ‘Midnight Crisp’ is now available on LP as well as CD.
Shirley Davis & the Silverbacks Funky Soul ‘Keep On Keepin On’ gets a limited ed coloured vinyl issue. Donald Byrd previously unreleased ‘Cookin with blue note at montreux’ was recorded in 1973 with The Blackbyrds and is an amazing find, and essential addition to a Jazz-Funk collection.Joyce ‘Maestro’ is another unissued 70’s album great Brazilian Jazz Fusion.
Blue Mitchell ‘Bring it On Home To Me’ is the latest in the Blue Note Tone Poet series, and there are welcome reissues from Roland Kirk, John lee Hooker and Argentinian Jazz keyboardist Matias Pizarro. There are three 45’s of note this week Joe Bataan excellent ‘Call my Name’ and two obscure 80’s soul/funk cuts on Athens Of The North.

The new reissues on Soul Brother from FBI LP and Johnny Hammond ‘Gamblers Life’ LP and CD sound great and have been flying out, as has the Webster Lewis Anthology CD compiled by Will Fox and Ralph Tee (pre-order delayed Lp due mid December), grab your copies now if you haven’t already.
The new 45’s on Soul Brother and Expansion have also been very well received. We still have regular dinked and limited edition full centre Dj Copies of the excellent in demand 45s from China Burton and Betty Everett on Soul Brother and classics from Pleasure and The Blackbyrds on Expansion, see the feature here.
