There are some great new releases and reissues this week. Khari Cabral Simmons & Jiva ‘Heaven & Earth’ is a lovely samba soul album, R C and the Gritz is slightly edgier jazzy Neo-Soul and Richard Sears ft Albert ‘Tootie’ Heath ‘Altadena’ great spiritual jazz all from the fantastic Ropeadope group of labels. Louis Marks from Ropeadope visited the store on Wednesday you can see pictures here and a feature on the label here. Bahama Soul Club have a good album ‘Havana 58’ ft Brenda Boykin out on CD this week, Vinyl pre-order for early December.
Kenya has an album of Remixes on Expansion ‘Skin Deep Collection’. You can meet Kenya tonight and help her celebrate her birthday at the in store between 6-8pm, when she will be signing CDs.

Loads of good reissues , our own critically acclaimed Mark Murphy ‘Anthology’ is finally here on Vinyl as well as CD, amazing vocal jazz record. The Betty Davis ‘Columbia Years’ is also finally in on Vinyl as well as CD, great raw late 60’s Soul.
There are some good mini LP paper sleeve CD reissues from Solomon Burke, James Brown and David Ruffin. The 4 Tops that was due had a manufacturing fault and will now be available in January. Masterpiece 22 is a good 80’s Soul/boogie comp.
On the Vinyl side as well as the Murphy and Davis, there are two good compilations from Outta Sight and three new reissue 45’s from Expansion, plus we have found a few copies of the limited edition Linda Jones 45. The first batch of Arnold Blair 45 sold out on pre-sale , we are now pre-selling for the final batch due in December, if you haven’t got your copy yet please pre-order now before we sell out our allocation again. The Yussef Kamaal Lp also sold out very quickly, we are awaiting a repress due late November/Early December so all unfilled orders will be shipped as soon as they arrived. Again we recommended pre-ordering this Lp as they are likely to be in short supply. Pre-orders can be found here
