Recommended new releases – 24th March 2016

Its another strong week for releases with some great Soul and Jazz albums again this week. Anthony Hamilton and Jahiem return with their first albums in a few years. The Bobby Caldwell Babyface and Harold Mabern albums are now available on Vinyl as well as CD. Snowboy returns with a great Latin Jazz album, and there are good Jazz albums from Brian Bromberg, Chris Standring and Darren Rahn.

There are some nice reissue CDs from Garland Green and Stargard plus collections from Winfield Parker, O V Wright, and Larry Levan, plus a Motown revue live in Paris set available as a Double CD, Triple LP Box Set and selected cuts as a 5 x 7″ box set.

There are some classic Reggae Dub LP reissues and three new Northern Soul 45’s from Outta Sight. Verve celebrate their 60 years anniversary with some great value for money 5 classics albums CD collections and also some individual 180gm Vinyl reissues.

We are open on Good Friday 10-5.30 and Easter Saturday 10-7, but closed on Easter Sunday and Monday, reopening on Tuesday at 10am.

Record store day is 16th April and there are some strong releases, we hope to have the Soul, Jazz Blues and Reggae listing ready for next week, but in the meantime you can check the UK RSD list here. We have two great vinyl releases on Soul Brother, Dee Edwards classic ‘(I Can) Deal With it’ on a 45 with the regular and Strings versions back to back, plus Eleanore Mills brilliant ‘This is Eleanore Mills’ LP plus a 45 featuring two non albums cuts. We will be announcing some special in stores at Soul Brother for the day next week.
