Recommended new releases – 2nd April 2015

There are some good new releases for the bank holiday weekend. Ropeadope have three very interesting albums. Snarky Puppy vocalist Shayna Steel has a very nice folky jazzy soul album, Lars Bartkuhn has an esoteric jazz album in the style of Pat Metheny and Ajoyo have a really good jazzy afro funk record.   Cassandra Wilson has a nice Billie Holiday covers album and BBE have an different take on Neo Soul with their on deck 3 compilation.

Reid Inc ‘s rare TK (Bold) album has a welcome Vinyl reissue. There are also some great new 45 reissues from Gwen McCrae, Alice Clark, Esther Marrow, little Eva and others.

All pre-orders for the Jarrod Lawson at the BBC album have now been shipped. Jarrod will be in store on Sunday 12th April 12.30-2pm signing copies of the album and his debut CD, I hope that you can come and meet the man. If you can’t make it but would like a signed copy you can pre-order it here.

We have now ordered all the Exclusive record store day titles and will start loading these on the site for information from next week. We have four releases on our own label which you can view here. I’m sorry but to keep within the code of conduct we cannot accept pre-orders or reservations for Record store day titles, they will be available in our shop on Saturday 18th April at 8am on a first come first served basis. Any stock remaining will be available on line on Saturday 25th April at 10am.
