Wow ! what a week for releases with over 30 new albums and singles this week, our music is going through a purple patch at the moment. New albums from Maysa and Opolopo plus a great mixed compilation of soulful house from DJ Spen will keep Soul folk happy. Bugge Wesseltoft has a great up tempo Jazz album featuring Joe Claussell, and Melody Gardot has made a superb album produced by Larry Klein which will have wide appeal. Congratulation to Joe Davis Far Out label on its 20th Anniversary, the Brazilika compilation features many of the classic cuts from the label.

Smooth Jazz is well represented this week with seven albums including really strong sets from Lin Rountree, Jessy J, Jonathan Fritzen and Julian Vaughn. The recent David Sanborn and Marcus Miller albums are now available on Vinyl.

We are also back in stock of the great Tahirah Memory and Kamasi Washington CDs the first batch of which flew out.

Vinyl

There are some good Vinyl Reissues this week including 180gm Limited Edition 15th anniversary editions of two of our labels biggest releases, Marlena Shaw- Anthology and Marva Whitney ‘It’s My Thing’ plus bonus tracks, both essential double LP’s. Marvin Gaye’s first seven LP’s are put together in a nicely presented 7LP box set, Tommy Stewart’s rare groove classic and Boscoe rare funk album are amongst a good batch of welcome vinyl reissues.

Paul Hardcastle 19 is featuring in all its different mixes including the rare ‘Whats going on’ mix on CD and double vinyl.

There’s also some good singles including a rare boogie cut from Bourbon and Maxx, a new single from Chic and a couple of good 45’s. The Martin Dumas and Taxie 12″‘s and Samuel D Saunders 45 are sold out at the moment but we understand all three will be repressed in the summer, so if you missed out watch the site and we will put them back up for pre-order when we have dates. There have been so many good 45’s recently , check the listing here for recent titles. We are expecting the Ola Onabule 45 at the end of next week.
