New Releases and Pre-Orders, Friday 16th December

P.J.Morton’s excellent album ‘Watch The Sun’ is now available on Lp as well as CD. Henry Franklin Jazz is Dead 14 is also now released on LP. There are some great new reissues this week Pharoah Sanders ‘Karma’ is the latest in the Impulse Acoustic Sounds high quality vinyl pressings along with Benny Carter ‘Jazz Giant’. The Art Pepper and Chet Baker Blue Note Tone Poet Lp is also now in along with the latest two in the BN classic series from Tehlonious Monk and J J Johnson. There are soul reissues on Lp from the Whatnauts and Bettye Lavette.

Myele Manzanaza was in store last Saturday signing copies of his great album ‘Crisis and Opportunity vol 3 ft Omar and many other singers. We have a few signed copies available here.
We are also back in stock of some great long out of stock albums including Mainstream Funk , Norman Feels and Tom Mische ‘Geography’.
We are sad to learn of the passing of Detroit and Northern Soul legend J.J.Barnes at the age of 79. He was one of the first Soul artists that I saw in concert (at the Howard Mallett club in Cambridge c1973). He left us some great recordings, we have copies of his classic ‘Sweet Sherry’ on 45, available as dinked or full centre dj copies.

The new reissues on Soul Brother from FBI LP and Johnny Hammond ‘Gamblers Life’ LP and CD sound great and have been flying out, as has the Webster Lewis Anthology CD compiled by Will Fox and Ralph Tee (pre-order delayed Lp due 23rd December), grab your copies now if you haven’t already.
The new 45’s on Soul Brother and Expansion have also been very well received. We still have regular dinked and limited edition full centre Dj Copies of the excellent in demand 45s from China Burton and Betty Everett on Soul Brother and classics from Pleasure and The Blackbyrds on Expansion, see the feature here.
