It’s a fantastic week for releases. Diane Shaw returns for her ‘Second Chance’ another great album from the Manchester based Soul singer now available on CD, The Soul Trend orchestra have been setting dance-floors and airwaves alight with ’84 King street’ now in stock on CD and DLP, Aaron Abernathy has another album on CD.
There are some great new Jazz albums this week, Menagerie ‘Arrow of time’ is outstanding and there are new albums from Go Go Penguin, Bobby Manuel, Courtney Pine and Matt Cappy, and vinyl releases from Mammal Hands and Nostalgia 77.
Craig Charles funk and soul Vol 5 will be another popular CD from the BBC6 DJ.
There are also some great reissue albums and comps. ‘Bless The People Everywhere’
is a really strong comp of Gospel influenced Soul and Funky Soul released on the ABC Peacock and Songbird labels in the early to mid 70’s out on Cd and LP. Gift of Dreams ‘The Gift’ is finally reissued on Vinyl and CD , there is a great collection of Frankie & The Spindles Baltimore and Philly Soul 45’s on a CD, a superb collection of Beginning of the End, Dennis Coffey’s iconic Evolution album and a good 2 CD collection from the Kaygees. There are also some great reissue LP’s this week
Three choice 45s come from the ultra-rare Love Company’s ‘Love Tempo’, Aaron Broomfield’s in demand ‘I’m Gonna Miss Ya’ and the Nu-Rons good two-sider ‘All My Life/Disco Hustle’.
