New Releases and pre-orders 24th of August 2018

There are a few new albums this week from well established artists with Peabo Bryson making his first for over a decade, plus new offerings from Jeff Lorber Fusion and Jonathan Butler.

Starvue’s in demand Upward Bound album makes it’s Cd debut and the much loved and varied Contempo label have a 3CD box set featuring 63 of tracks released on the UK label from 1973-77.
There are some great jazz vinyl reissue LP’s this week.  Pick of the bunch is Harold McKinney rare album recorded for the Detroit Tribe label in 1974, superb Spiritual and at times funky jazz. There is also a sought after Alice Coltrane album plus some great Blue Note titles including the wonderful iconic Art Blakey ‘Night in Tunisia’.
There are loads of great 12″ singles including two from Joey Negro , Kaidi Tatham and essential reissues from Hudson People , Splendor and Main Ingredient.

Randy Muller in store lookback

Big thanks for everybody who came to meet Randy Muller in store last Friday, what a wonderful man he is. You can see the pictures here. He played us his new album which is due for release late December/early January which sounded really good. Randy also signed a few copies of three Brass Construction Cds we released on Soul Brother which you can order here, we of course have regular copy available as well.
Our next in store will be with the lovely Natasha Watts on Saturday 22nd September signing copies of her new album which is released that week.

Pre-order

Pre-order for next week two more albums on the tribe label,  The Royal Krunk Jazz orchestra plus many others.  The John Reid album has been put back to early September. Check the pre-order titles here.

Bank Holiday opening times

We are open today and tomorrow 10-7 and Sunday 11-5 but closed Bank holiday Monday.
The store is well worth checking as we have just filled the 7″ single. 12″ single racks and extended our display of Soul, Funk and Jazz LP’s so there’s plenty of great titles to browse through.
