Happy New Year!

I'd like to thank you all of our customers for your  continued support throughout 2015, and wish you all a very happy New Year for 2016. 2015 was a great year for our music, with many great New Soul and Jazz releases. Tahirah Memory, Diane Shaw, Kamasi Washington, Matthew Halsall and Joyce Elaine Yuille were amongst those who  gave us albums that we will be playing for years to come. New arrivals – recommended new releases 23rd December 2015

New releases just in Just two days until Christmas and we have a huge amount of new titles just arrived.  DeRobert has a new mini album,'Got the goods' - what a great voice he has. Nigel Hall's album is available on a very limited Vinyl release, Cd to follow in 2016. We are taking pre-orders for two hot albums coming in January 'Luxury soul 2016' and Peo 'Swede Soul music'. New Releases Lyle Divinski has made a brilliantly produced lovely Blue-Eyed Soul album which is easily our album of the week. Sharon Jones has made a fantastic essential Funky Soul Christmas Party album. We haven't heard much from UK Soul/R&B artist Everis for 20 years and he follows the path of Don-E in creating new songs from Rare Groove classics. New releases Bobby Caldwell makes a welcome return as Uncle Cool, R Kelly's new album was due in January but has arrived early. Mimika won best newcomer award at the Love Supreme concert and make their interesting and at times challenging debut album which has Sun Ra and Art Ensemble of Chicago influences. New Releases Soul Junction records have turned up trumps again with a superb unissued album from Elbowed Out featuring recordings made in the late 70's to late 80's. New releases Moonchild have made a really good album, that fully deserves to be our album of the week. If you enjoyed the recent Mad Satta and Haitus Kaiyote albums, check out the band who influenced them. Brooklyn Funk Essentials return after 20 years with a strong album. New Releases Angie Stone returns with a strong album 'Dream' , the reliable Pieces of a dream celebrate 29 years together with  'All in', Floating Points have made a very interesting Ambient Jazz record 'Eleana' and rising star Leron Thomas has his debut album. New releases Malted Milk and Toni Green have recorded a superb Southern Soul album , which is released today on Cd and LP.
