It’s a bumper week for new releases and reissues , with some great new albums from Ezra Collective, Lee Fields and Bunn Debrett Quintet.
There are also two more releases in the Blue Note Tone Poet series from Bobby Hutcherson and Harold Vick. There are two compilations of note, John Sinclair Presents Detroit Artists Workshop which has some great late 60’s and early 70’s Jazz from the Motorcity, and Theo Parrish Dj Kicks featuring soulful house and some up and coming Detroit artists. The highlight of the week though are the new batch of 45’s on Soul Brother and Expansion, with killer cuts from Betty Everett, China Burton, The Blackbyrds and Pleasure available as regular dinked or limited edition DJ full centre copies. There is also a nice new retro soul 45 on DaptoneWe are also back in stock of some great CDs and Lps that have been out of stock for a while.
The new reissues on Soul Brother from FBI LP and Johnny Hammond ‘Gamblers Life’ LP and CD sound great and have been flying out, as has the Webster Lewis Anthology CD compiled by Will Fox and Ralph Tee (pre-order delayed Lp due mid November), grab your copies now if you haven’t already. Webster Lewis anthology LP should be arriving in two weeks, but we’ve just restocked the CD.

We are very sad to learn of the passing of UK Soul singer Noel McKoy, whose voice has graced many great albums and tracks over the past 30 years. Noel visited the shop many times and signed copies of many of his albums, we still have a few copies of ‘People Make Change’ available.
